05/2004 - Increased Indirect Cost Rate - The CESU Council has increased the indirect cost rate for all CESU agreements. This change will take effect for all existing CESU agreements on May 1, 2004. View the memorandum at the national CESU site.

01/2004 - USGS opens all departments to CESU agreements - According to USGS FY 03 Appropriations Act (P.L. 108-7) under Administrative Provisions, the USGS now has the ability to use the CESU not just for biology. While the language does not specifically address the CESU, it does address cooperative agreements. Now, all divisions of USGS may use CESU agreements to initiate projects.
